In my twenties, I had several travel experiences. I visited Mexico, backpacked around southeast Asia, backpacked through Europe, and visited various islands in the Caribbean. I was hooked on my international experiences and especially warmer climates.
So much so that I bought one of the first online home-based travel agency franchises available in North America and operated it as a part time business. This further fuelled my passion for travel and sharing my experiences with others and helping them have new and interesting experiences.
Then I asked myself one question:
Is it possible to live and work somewhere tropical, and return home to Northern Alberta to visit friends and family 2-3 weeks per year?
The reality I was living was the complete opposite. I would work hard and bank as many days and weeks as I could so I could escape the long cold and dark winters to explore warmer climates.
This would be the start of an adventurous, challenging, yet fulfilling chapter in my life of living and working in the Cayman Islands, that I captured in Caribbean Dreams. I hope you enjoy it!
